The Kochi-Muziris Biennale, an international exhibition of contemporary art, is instrumental in attracting visitors to Kerala.
The festivities, which are now coming to a close, started on December 12, 2012, and have drawn 2.5 lakh visitors to date.
Organisers are going for a grand final lap by strengthening visitor attendance, crowd funding and participation of cultural icons.
According to the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF), which runs the event, “After the first week of January, the average crowd has been 1,000 a day. It goes between 2,000 and 2,500 on Saturdays and Sundays.
“Right from the start, we have been getting at least 500 foreign visitors a day,” the organisation said.
